Jane & Gail in Norrbyggeby
Rånäs (60 min. from Center City Stockholm)
Jane is a nursing instructor/personal assistant to Team Andi. Gail has "early-retired" after 26 years service with the City of Stockholm - his latest placement was in Kista Borough - where he was as an ICT specialist with Internet/Intranet strategy/eDemocracy as his working area. 2006 was election year in Sweden (next in 2010) and, of course, Gail could not avoid getting involved. He even has a political web site. And he won a Norrtälje municipal council seat and High School Board seat on a platform of local democracy improvement through more use of ICT.

Here is our home in Roslagen at
Norrbyggeby, a
small village with 12-15 year-round and 30 summer only families, lots of forest,
a lake, chickens and roosters, cats and dogs, horses, sheep, beef cows -
and most of all- the peace and tranquility for which country living is so known .

We're at the north point of the star near the Uppsala County line. Here are additional maps and a satellite photo of the area. |
We are busy 65+ year olds who have been there and done it - or so we think! We believe life's simple luxuries dwarf all that 'stuff'.
In 1998 we moved from Sollentuna to Norrbyggeby. The stress of suburban city living tapered off with our "place in the country", guest house, chickens, greenhouse, forest and lake. We are 40 minutes from the Arlanda Airport - 60 minutes by car or bus from center City Stockholm with all its "big city" attractions, 30 minutes from historic university town Uppsala, 20 minutes from Norrtälje, our gateway to the Stockholm archipelago and its thousands of islands.
Do drop us a line. Gail always looks at his mail several times a day, even on the weekends! Or why not writte a note in our blog.
